Dr. Kuyumcu Dental Clinic was founded in İzmir Alsancak in 1983 by Dr. Akın Kuyumcu and Dentist Tülin Kuyumcu.

Since its establishment, our clinic has provided care across different fields of dentistry, particularly oral health, oral and maxillofacial surgery, implant dentistry, aesthetic dentistry, restorative treatments and prosthetic dentistry.

At the core of the Dr. Kuyumcu approach is not simply treating an existing dental problem, but evaluating the patient’s oral health, function and long-term treatment needs as a whole.

Alongside nearly half a century of professional experience, following scientific developments and contemporary treatment methods has remained one of the clinic’s fundamental principles since its foundation.

Our Founders

Dr. Akın Kuyumcu

Dr. Akın Kuyumcu graduated from Ege University Faculty of Dentistry in 1975. In the same year, he began his academic career at the Department of Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery at Ege University.

In 1980, he completed his doctoral study titled “Comparison of Surgical and Conservative Treatments in Habitual Luxation of the Temporomandibular Joint.” He continued his academic work at the university until 1983, when he left to establish his private clinical practice in İzmir Alsancak.

In 1988, together with Dentist Tülin Kuyumcu, he received implantology training at the Gothenburg clinic of Prof. Per-Ingvar Brånemark, one of the pioneers of modern dental implantology. Since then, implantology, oral and maxillofacial surgery and comprehensive dental treatment have formed an important part of his clinical work.

Dr. Akın Kuyumcu has been a member of professional organizations in oral implantology and was among the founding members of the Osseointegration Academy Association. He has also followed international professional organizations and developments in implantology and osseointegration throughout his career.

Beyond dentistry, art and intellectual life have always held an important place in Dr. Kuyumcu’s world. Classical music, piano, sailing, travel and literature are among his long-standing interests and are reflected in his approach to aesthetics, balance and patient-centered care.

Dentist Tülin Kuyumcu

Dentist Tülin Kuyumcu graduated from Ege University Faculty of Dentistry in 1982 and began her professional career in İzmir.

Since 1983, she has continued her clinical work together with Dr. Akın Kuyumcu at their dental clinic in Alsancak.

Throughout her professional life, she has participated in courses, seminars, congresses and continuing education programs in cities including Gothenburg, Sydney, London, Munich, Madrid and Lisbon in order to follow developments in contemporary dentistry.

Since 1997, Tülin Kuyumcu has focused particularly on aesthetic dentistry, with an approach centered on preserving natural tooth structure and evaluating aesthetics together with function.

In addition to dentistry, she has been involved in painting for many years and actively participates in various social responsibility initiatives.

Our Professional Journey Since 1983

The history of Dr. Kuyumcu Dental Clinic is more than the founding date of a dental practice.

The journey that began in Alsancak in 1983 has continued through academic surgical experience, implantology training, aesthetic dentistry, international professional education and a commitment to continuous development.

1975

Dr. Akın Kuyumcu graduates from Ege University Faculty of Dentistry and begins his academic career.

1980

Completion of his doctoral research on the temporomandibular joint.

1982

Dentist Tülin Kuyumcu graduates from Ege University Faculty of Dentistry.

1983

Dr. Kuyumcu Dental Clinic begins serving patients in İzmir Alsancak.

1988

Implantology training at Prof. Per-Ingvar Brånemark’s clinic in Gothenburg.

1997

Tülin Kuyumcu begins focusing more extensively on aesthetic dentistry.

Today

Clinical practice continues with the same professional principles while following scientific developments and contemporary dental approaches.
